Cefyn joins Craig, Shawn and Wade, as they look at what is happening in the UK cannabis scene right now. Cefyn educates the lads as to what are the big issues happening in the cannabis in CBD world in Britain at the moment, as well as some eye-opening history as to how the cannabis industry in the UK has been shaped by politicians and greedy corporate types.

One of the big topics in the episode is around the future of British cannabis, and whether or not a government will continue to push off the topic while other countries around the world legalise, or if the UK will be forced into a cannabis policy to fill the coffers.

Also, how fair is it for corporations to run greenhouses full of the green, while someone living 10 minutes away can be busted and jailed for possessing only £10 worth of weed. Where is the logic here?

Cannabis World

We pack a lot into this podcast, which also involves us looking at the other countries around the world, and how their policies could help shape the UK and the rest of Europe.

Thailand

First it was illegal, then it was legal, now it could become illegal again. Thailand is a cautionary tale for anyone in the business of cannabis worried about the future of their investments. Imagine spending loads of money to adhere to government directives, only to be told ‘no’ once you’re ready to launch.  Will the Thai’s be able to correct their course to government profits?

Germany

All eyes are on Germany after their April 1st launch of cannabis for recreational use. Interestingly, German insurance companies are getting itchy trying to figure out if they have to cover the cost of medical herb for those who are prescribed it. Isn’t it cool to get your weed subsidized?

Canada

At first there was a huge chunk of investment by the VC’s, only to find out that Canadians would rather grow your own. Canada still leads the way in terms of cannabis cool, but will the socialist nature of the country be its own undoing?

USA

America is moving towards reclassifying cannabis to have it under the direction of the FDA, instead of the FBI. If the US can convince all of the states to ‘recognise’, then perhaps they can roll out cannabis across the country, instead of in just small pockets. How will states like Utah react, when allowing booze in was suck a tough fight?
