Hey folks, we’re back with another podcast as the boys hit you with July Cannae.
The summer grows along for many in the cannabis business, and for others it can be a frustrating affair.
In this episode of the podcast, Craig, Shawn and Wade look at some of the top cannae’s going on the business right now, and how they might spin into a positive.
If you’re looking for a fun and engaging podcast on the business of cannabis, give it a listen.
Among some of the things the guys talk about in this episode includes:
Canadian Conundrum
Big hedge funds in cannabis and major players are whining because they overestimated the Canadian market, but whose fault is that?
For many Canadians, the heralding of legalisation brought with it the freedom to grow your own, or more likely, to get off of someone who is really good at growing it.
Many Canadians have an ‘Uncle Jim’ who has been growing crazy weed since the 70s’, so it’s no surprise that when Canadian buyers are looking for volume, that they might look homeward.
Sure, cannabis shops are a great novelty, but for true, ardent smokers, the shops are a place to grab a treat, a pinch or a gift.
Ukraine Free
Ukraine has announced that they will legalise cannabis in small amounts for soldiers returning from battle, and those struggling with PTSD.
A brave move in an area of the world where cannabis is shunned as a bad player as opposed to drinking copious amounts of hard alcohol.
Hopefully the plant will provide some relief to the brave soldiers of Ukraine, and potentially open up a new facet of business for the country when this horrible war is finally over.
Scotland Cannae
Scotland has recently announced that they are ready to get tough on drugs, with heroin and the threat of the dreaded ‘traq’ looming.
Despite attempts by the Scottish government and health authorities to push forward with decriminalising drugs, the British government has finger-wagged a ‘no-no’ if Scotland dare attempts it.
It seems another national war is blossoming, and Scotland has nothing to lose when it comes to protecting its citizens from the worst drug death rates in Europe.
Mushrooms
With the okay of cannabis, a new industry has been booming in cities, as psychedelic mushrooms have been popping up in shops from Barcelona to Montreal.
Mushrooms have been a growing trend in the field of mental health treatment, and consumed in moderation and under the right circumstances, they are a pretty fun trip. But the pop-up culture of illegal shroom shops from New York to San Fran, and the growing trend of ‘flower’ shops seeding in Spain, and a worrying trend emerges.
It’s not that mushrooms themselves are necessarily evil, but these shady merchants could be selling much, much more.
Malta Cannabis Bars
From the ‘Cannae’ to the ‘Can’, as the island nation of Malta has made the bold move to allow for legal cannabis bars.
After recently legalistion the personal consumption of cannabis, this rocky isle has a history of hosting everything from gambling companies to offshore banking, and sports affairs. It’s no wonder that this island of anything goes would be willing to take the first bet in being a cannabis destination.
There are a few restrictions of course for anyone looking to sell the trailer and move to Malta, at least 1 of the major business partners has to have lived in Malta for at least 5 years, which means you can’t just roll up, and roll into a joint. You gotta have connections.
Whatever the dealio, it seems cool that Malta is willing to take the first steps into making cannabis bars a reality. We look forward to seeing and visiting.
Here are a few images we created in AI to imagine it.
